Facebook Becomes Easebook: Eliminates Bing Search Engine

Glitch or Glam Facebook chooses to keep away the Bing web search engine for a reason, affirmed by Reuters. Call it a glitch in the Facebook- Microsoft long vital partnership, or simply a glitz add-on by face book to make it simple for the users. Facebook has stopped including results from Microsoft’s Bing. An organization representative affirmed the news that Facebook has redone its own search offerings, presenting a tool on Monday that permits the users to rapidly find past comments and other data posted on Facebook.

Facebook spokesperson in an interview with Reuters said, “We’re not currently showing web search results in Facebook Search because we’re focused on helping people find what’s been shared with them on Facebook,” and “We continue to have a great partnership with Microsoft in lots of different areas.”

Facebook’s center of focus has always been; making it easy for the users, so they have no issues in finding what & who they want to, and when they want to. Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg has bannered search as one of the organization’s key development activities. “There is more than a trillion posts, which some of the search engineers on the team like to remind me, is bigger than any Web search corpus out there,” Zuckerberg said on a conference call with analysts in July.

Panda 4.1

Microsoft’s Bing is the No.2 Web search provider in the U.S. Facebook and Microsoft have a longstanding relationship going over to Microsoft’s $240 million interest in Facebook, Microsoft gave flag promotions on Facebook’s site in universal markets for a 1.6 percent stake in the organization, in October 2007.

They may call it whatever in their terms, but we as Facebook users are surely on the winning side, at least that is what we hope, and “hope is a good thing, and a good thing never dies”. It would be too early to pass a judgment whether or not this innovation would prove beneficial for the users, but our undying faith on Mr. Zuckerberg is letting us toss a coin on his words, and take our chances.
